Sustainability of Human Resources in the Transition Towards Sustainable Universities: An Exploratory Study of the Opinions of a Sample of Leaders at the Universities of Mosul and Al-Mustansiriyah

The general objective of this study is to identify the role of human resources sustainability in the transformation of some Iraqi universities into sustainable universities. The study community was represented by the administrative leadership of the universities of Mosul and Al-Mustansiriyah. The Study relied on descriptive analytical method of the respondents’ opinions that were identified through the use of a survey list as the main tool for collecting data. The Study sample was (40) respondents from middle management leaders at the universities of Al-Mustansiriyah and Mosul. Statistical analysis program (SPSS) was used to process, and analyze data and test hypotheses. The results revealed a significant effect of the dimensions of human resources sustainability on the transformation of universities towards green, meaning that there is a positive correlation between them. The greater the availability of the dimensions of human resources sustainability, the more universities will shift towards green. The study presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: working to create appropriate levels of human resources sustainability with the highest efficiency, and developing human resources management sustainability policies in a way that achieves the transformation of universities towards green.
