Abstract

Ismail II assumed the throne of the Safavid state after his father's death, Shah Tahmasp I, 1576, and because of the cruelty and persecution he was subjected to during the rule of his father, his days characterized with cruelty and violence and the Ottoman state took advantage of this conflict and control areas, and Shah Ismail was not able to confront the Ottomans, as he was preoccupied with his pleasures and confronted his enemies internally, which ended his life in 1577, so that the country entered  in more bloody struggles between the Qizilbash tribes to control power.
