The study aimed to determine the level of mental health and the level of future anxiety among a sample of high school students in the official education sector in Akkar Governorate, and to identify the type of relationship between the two variables. The sample consisted of 640 male and female students, evenly distributed by gender (males, females). The study employed the descriptive correlational method to describe the levels that help understand the nature of the correlational relationship between mental health and future anxiety.
The study utilized the Mental Health Scale developed by Mousa Mohamed Thabet (2018) and the Future Anxiety Scale developed by Zeinab Shaqir (2005) to ensure the validity and reliability of the scales after applying them to a pilot sample of 400 male and female high school students in the official education sector.
After conducting the field study and using appropriate statistical methods, the hypotheses were verified. It was found that the actual study sample had a moderate level of mental health and future anxiety. Additionally, a statistically significant inverse relationship was found between mental health and future anxiety. Statistically significant differences were also recorded between male and female students in high school regarding future anxiety, favoring males.
