Abstract

The study aims to shed light on Kuwait’s position on the American occupation of Iraq in 2003, especially since Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations have witnessed political tensions throughout history, and their intensity has varied from one period to another, and according to the internal political situation of the two countries and the regional political atmosphere. These tensions increased after the Baath Party took power in Iraq, and Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations became tense, especially after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, and the Iraqi government formed a security concern for the Arab Gulf states. Thus, the Gulf governments welcomed the American occupation of Iraq and provided international forces with assistance in order to overthrow the Iraqi regime. These data were the reason for this study.
