The rule of the Fatimid caliphs is considered one of the greatest bright periods, and an indicator of a new stage in Islamic history, as it witnessed the announcement of the establishment of the third caliphate in the Islamic world at that time after the Abbasid caliphs in Baghdad and the Umayyads in Cordoba. Their efforts culminated in the establishment of the Fatimid state in Morocco in the year 296 AH/909 AD and the elimination of the Aghlabid authority of the Abbasid rule. The Fatimid Caliphate realized that the countries of the Maghreb could achieve its main goal, which was to monopolize the rule of the Islamic world.
