Turkification of Central Asia
Keywords:
Turkification, Asia Minor, AnatoliaAbstract
Asia Minor is one of the ancient cities that were under the control of the Romans, and they called it “Anatolia”, which means the rising sun. As for the name Central Asia, it was derived from the Greek word “Mikra Asia”, meaning Central Asia.
The exodus wave of Turks towards Central Asia began after the economic situation narrowed, and the numbers of Turks increased, and Turkestan became unable to support the Turkish tribes, in addition to that the presence of major powers represented by the Mongols was an additional factor in that exodus. The settlement of the Turks near the lands that were the target of the Muslim armies to spread Islam led to their conversion to Islam in order to secure their status and join the state in that time period.
The research relied on a hypothesis based on a number of questions:
The reasons for the emigration of the Turks from their homeland, how did their settlement near the Muslims play a role in their conversion to Islam, did the idea of building the state play a role in the expansion in Asia Minor?
