Abstract

This study aimed to know the fertile ground and incubating environment for the activity of extremist groups on the continent of Africa, and is characterized by factors that make the growth of these groups easy. Perhaps Islamic ideas and ideology began to spread among Africans, through students who return after completing their studies to a country that can be monitored by security devices. National security also shows another factor related to African countries and the nature of their Islamists, which is that there is an extremist nature in understanding Islam, especially among individuals who do not know the original Arabic language after being exposed to organized recruitment operations, in addition to The new Islamic trends that interact among the citizens of the continent include extremist ideas about changing countries’ regimes by force and imposing Islamic law, which has been repeated in a number of African countries, including Nigeria and Somalia specifically.
