Abstract

The substantial impact that the money collected from Iraq's border crossings has on both mitigating the nation's budgetary deficit issue and supporting the country's general economic health is noteworthy. Especially the transportation industry, these ports are a major source of support for important national industries. By imposing customs taxes on products entering Iraq through these ports, they also help the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the general authority of customs.

The money received from the ports is thought to be an important center of trade and a source of funding for the state budget. The financial support it gets acts as a link between all governmental organizations, which is vital to the support of those organizations. These vital business centers support several economic sectors with funding possibilities while also boosting the country's economy. Additionally, they benefit all of the major departments now in place at the port, helping to handle the deficit problem major obstacle to the financial plans of many nations, including Iraq.

The general budget deficit has negatively impacted the Iraqi economy for a number of reasons, including differences in state spending on public goods. The study population consists of workers from the general authority for border ports, customs, and the ministry of finance. Based on earlier scientific research and references addressing the study's factors, the researcher created a questionnaire.

After that, the researcher selected an appropriate sample from the study population and gave a questionnaire to 125 people at random. Three of the 118 questionnaires that were returned were judged unfit for analysis. With a 92% recovery rate, 115 questionnaires were issued and deemed eligible for research. This was done in order to meet the study's goals and get the data required to understand how border crossings contribute to the state's overall budget deficit. There is a statistically significant correlation between the amount of money collected in export taxes and the state's overall budget deficit management process. In a similar vein, there is a statistically significant relationship between the act's revenue and import tariffs.
