This research addresses the issue of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of Islamic legal advisory (fatwa), raising significant questions about the legitimacy and accuracy of relying on AI, and its potential impact on traditional jurisprudence and human scholarly reasoning. The study highlights the importance of determining the Islamic ruling on using AI for issuing fatwas, emphasizing the need for a solid jurisprudential foundation for emerging issues and the establishment of clear criteria and religious guidelines. The research adopts an inductive approach to analyze relevant Islamic texts, along with an analytical method to evaluate AI applications from a Sharia perspective. The study is structured into an introduction, three main sections—defining fatwa and the conditions of a qualified mufti, explaining AI and its significance, and discussing the permissibility and regulations of AI-based fatwas—followed by a conclusion summarizing findings and recommendations.
